PartsPulse PartsPulse

AI software for aftermarket parts

The margin and revenue platform for aftermarket parts.

PartsPulse is one system for the three levers that decide how much money a parts business makes: pricing, sales, and stocking. Built for heavy equipment manufacturers and the dealer networks that sell their parts.

The problem

The margin and revenue a parts business is missing are already in its sales history.

Nobody's figured this out yet. Somebody ought to be bringing that data together and giving us something really good.

Every aftermarket operation has a dashboard for what it sold last week. Almost none can see what it is leaving on the table: the price increase that would have held, the reorder that never came, and the price that never moved when cost did.

Every price increase is a bet

A parts manager prices tens of thousands of parts for thousands of customers. That is millions of pricing bets, made with no tool built to guide them. Some customers pay less for a part than comparable customers do, and an increase there would hold. Others already pay at the top of the range, and an increase there could send the order elsewhere. The sales history shows which is which.

Lost orders and missed sales go unnoticed

Sales reps know their accounts, but across hundreds of them things slip through the cracks: the customer who misses its usual reorder date on a part, and the customer who never buys parts that comparable customers buy regularly. Our analysis shows that once a part is past its usual reorder date, it is half as likely to be reordered at all.

When cost goes up, prices stay put

Customer-specific prices are usually set as a fixed number. When a supplier raises the cost of a part, the matrix price moves and the special price stays where it was. Across thousands of special prices, the gap goes unnoticed and the margin shrinks on every order. Cost and sales history together show every part where cost moved and the price did not.

The platform

One system for the three levers that decide how much money a parts business makes.

Every part

Its equivalents across suppliers, its quality tiers, what it has superseded, and what the market pays for it.

Every customer

What type of business it is, what it buys and from whom, which customers it most resembles, and how big its business really is.

Dealers and OEMs

Dealers and OEMs are on the same team.

Most parts software picks a side: dealer tools built for dealers, OEM tools built for OEMs, each blind to what the other sees. PartsPulse connects the two, and every manufacturer or dealer that joins makes the picture clearer for the rest.

For dealers
  • Sell on the full value of a part, not just its cost
  • See which accounts are slipping before the revenue is gone
  • Benchmark your parts business against comparable dealers
For OEMs
  • See your wallet share at every dealer, not just your own books
  • Understand where you are winning and losing, and why
  • Set customer pricing knowing what the part sells for downstream

In practice

One dealer. One part. $250,000.

$250K

Revenue from one phone call, on one part line, at one dealer

An opportunity nobody had surfaced

A heavy equipment manufacturer knew it was losing parts revenue but couldn't find where. Clustering its dealers by buying behavior showed one dealer buying relined brake kits far below comparable dealers. The opportunity came back priced and ranked, so sales could work it straight away.

This is the holy grail. Forty years in this business and I've not seen anything like this.
